TRAIL DESCRIPTION

The Pikes Peak Greenway runs through Monument Valley park and ends in Dorchester Park. It is a great place to ride after work. This trail parallels I-25, Monument Creek, Fountain Creek and the train tracks. It's almost flat the whole way and is great for beginners. The path is mostly paved until you get to Monument Valley park. The creeks make it a scenic ride, but watch out for the smell in the summer time... ugh! This ride can be extended beyond Dorchester Park. The trail actually goes about another 3/4 of a mile were it ends with a washed out bridge.

The Greenway trail can also be linked up with Bear Creek Park. Where the trail meets up with the Drake Power Plant, you can go under I-25 (instead of crossing the steel bike bridge). Go past Walmart and cross 8th street. You will see the dirt trail pickup about 100 yds (south on 8th street) on the right hand side of the road. This trail passes the equestrian center and leads over to Bear Creek Park.

The new Criterium Bike shop is located along the trail (6150 Corporate Dr)... just in case something breaks along the way!

TRAIL DIRECTIONS:

  • Take exit #149 (Woodman Rd) off of I-25
  • Head west on Woodman Rd
  • At the first light (past the I-25 exchange) turn left onto Corporate Dr.
  • There is a large parking lot on the right opposite Tiffany Square
  • The trail starts at the Mark Dabbling Blvd. and Corporate Dr. intersection

NOTE: since this trail goes through Colorado Springs (City), there are many places to pick-up the trail.
